U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Biography

  • Brett Shoulders was selected as a Management Analyst for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Pacific District Office in April 2021. In this capacity he assists the Lead Management Analyst, Executive Management Officer, and the District Director in the delivery of compensation, pension, vocational rehabilitation, loan guaranty, and education benefits for 13 Regional Offices located in 10 states including Alaska, Hawaii, and the Philippines. The Pacific District is responsible for over 4,200 employees and oversees the delivery of benefits and services to over 3.8 million Veterans and their beneficiaries.

    Mr. Shoulders began his career with the VBA in 2012 as a Legal Administrative Specialist at the Phoenix National Call Center (NCC). Since joining the VBA he steadily assumed positions of greater responsibility including a temporary assignment as Decision Review Officer in 2019 with the Denver Regional Office. He most recently served as a Management and Program Analyst for the Phoenix Regional Contact Center before starting with the Pacific District Office. Prior to VBA, Brett served in the United States Army deploying with the 41st Field Artillery Brigade in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
